Meacham x2 at Boston Marathon

Race report:  Randy finished in 3:43 and Denise in 4:05.
"Two speedy spouses," was Art Saffran's review.

Rank Strangers will be well represented at Monday's Boston Marathon.  Randy Meacham, a first-time qualifier last year, will be joined by his wife Denise who reached the qualifying standard at last May's
Wisconsin Marathon in Kenosha.

A string of graduations has kept the Meachams out of the race 2009 but they promise to return.

Randy is #11 in Rank Stranger mileage with 45.6 miles; Denise
has 23.5 relay miles.

time in the Wisconsin Marathon last May.

3 Boston Qualifiers in this group at the Lake Mills transition in 2007 - (L to R) Denise Meacham, Dave Maze, Randy Meacham and Marc Golab.  Randy's nephew Dave ran a qualifying time in 2013.  Marc is "just" a 4 time Rank Stranger who is 7th in mileage with 69.8.

Ragnar moves finish line south (was Ed the cause?!)

One of this year's race route adjustments is a big one - moving the finish from the Montrose beach spot used the past 9 years to a new place on the trail at Belmont Harbor.  Unlike past years when there was ample parking near the finish, we'll need to park north of the finish at the Waveland Park Tennis Courts and take a shuttle to the finish to celebrate the arrival of our hero.

Conspiracy theorists speculate it happened like this: teammate Ed, frustrated with the usual traffic jam at Montrose, greased some palms to get the finish extravaganza moved two miles south so he would have an easy stroll home.   Last year it would have been a 2.8 mile walk, this year just half a mile.
Map shows the Ed Effect - finish line moved south by 2 miles
